UPDATES (OCTOBER 9, 2021) [8:53A EDT]

“FIND US” SECTION UPDATED:  Today, I added additional information to the Find Us Section, at the request of Mr. Kaltz.  He asked me to add his Pager Number to this Section, so clients can now contact him this way.

COMMENTS:  I have had to manually turn off postings at the post editing level.  I turned off all posts that had been left open, and I thought that I had turned them off for all posts, but found 3 of them open today for comments, and I turned them off post-by-post.  For the time being, I have NOW disabled **all** comments sitewide, until such time as we determine they are needed.  (This will make it easier for us to manage the comments while we determine what posts and pages comments will be allowed.)

OTHER UPDATES:  We will be making changes to the site as time allows.

Chief among these will be: adding contact forms as necessary for Class Registration(s), Commerce, and collection of information necessary to conduct business.  We will also add Contact forms to places where we will need them. (Some places on the site will not be active for the foreseeable future, as we work to add functionality to the site, and continue to migrate information from K.I.P., LLC’s former webhost to BBDI. )

SECURITY AUDIT:  We will also make changes to the site to maintain integrity and security.

SYSTEM BACKUP: WEB DIRECTORIES FOR ALL DOMAINS (RESCHEDULED FROM SEPTEMBER 9)

Today, i am backing up all websites on the Network.  I had originally scheduled this for September 9, but had other commitments and additional information I added to this and other sites.  I backed up each site from /var/www/hostname.domain, and have moved older site backups out of the web directory.  Once this is completed, I will be “pruning” the backups of the system, and removing backups that are at LEAST 2 years old or more, as I believe most of the work I have done is more current than the archives (which I have used to RESTORE sites when problems happen).

I will also do the databases on the system as well.  I had to do some maintenance on the databases earlier in the month, and it is time to back them up again.

TOP MENUS EDITED:  Today, I fixed the Top menus.  The main problem with the way they were configured was that when you have dropdown menus, they have a “base menu” or a link that exists to build the content off of.  In many sites, the menu has a number of options, and you place your menus in “drop down format” and that allows for you to hover or click on a menu to see the sub-menus.

In the case of sites like this, that are designed for Desktop Use, Tablet Use, or Phone Use, the site theme may have a menu that is designed for the mobile device user, and as such, the “anchor pages” (About) (Services) and (Contact) can be clicked, but they did not have any information that was showing.  It is important to add information to these “anchor pages” because if you click on the Three Dot Menu, this is how the users of mobile devices see the website menu.  Since this theme has that Three Dot Menu for our mobile users, it is important to add information to all anchor pages, and link them properly, so that regardless of what device you use, you can see the same content, and access the same links.

To that end, all “anchor pages” have had information linked on the Top Level Page, so that people can select what they want after getting to the page they want.

CONTACT FORUM:  We will be adding a contact form to the website for questions, requests, quotes, etc as soon as we determine what we want to use the form for, as well as what form we want to make.  When we do make that decision, we will add the forms we need to the (CONTACT) menu, and we will also link contact forms we need to the About and Services Pages as well.

SITE MAINTENANCE AND CLEANUP OPERATIONS COMPLETED SEPTEMBER 9, 2021 @11:45 EDT

Today, I have performed cleanup and maintenance on this website.  As part of that cleanup and maintenance, I have:

1.  Found the source posting for 839 unsolicited [comments] postings because a blog posting has been left open for comments.
2. Disabled the ability to post any comments on ANY postings we place here for the foreseeable future, because these comments have no reason to be posted, and are spammy in nature.
3. Determined that there are several domains that just post JUNK anywhere there is an open comment to a post.
4. Performed Database Management Maintenance to REMOVE all comments from the blog section of the website.

WHY DO THIS?:  I have NO objection to posts in a blog with comments enabled.  However, when I log on, and see OVER 830 comments that have no redeeming value, and have nothing to do with the mission of Kaiser International Protection, LLC,  and the comments are being sent from FAKE addresses and FAKE users, action(s) must be taken.  I have removed all of these comments from this website, and will keep comments turned OFF to those who visit this site, as I have with other sites I own.  When either myself or Mr. Kaltz feels comments are appropriate for posts, He will advise me of this, and i will turn them back on, on a post by post basis.  This will help us manage the flow of comments or messages being generated on all Network Sites.  It will also curtail the troublesome domains, who just spam us constantly!

Site Maintenance on ALL websites on the BBWN will occur Sunday, September 11, 2021, between the hours of 8AM and NOON Eastern Time.  This maintenance will be performed on all domains, and downtime for the maintenance should be pretty minimal, if any. We will also be doing maintenance on the databases, and making sure we are “ship shape” as we prepare to add further contents to the sites.
